What's up so far...
FINALLY, my blog is back, with a whole new design because someone said it looked like it was typed by a dead person! (Although she didn't say it in too many words...) So NOW! There you go! Voila! A WHOLE NEW BLOG! Yes! Adelyn has risen from the dead!
I spent the whole of last weekend IDOLIZING! No... not Singapore Idol. Who cares about Taufik when you can get to see... BOBBY! BOWIE! BERNICE! and... well... SONIJA too, I guess. This is the first time I've actually gone crazy like a typical fan, screaming my head off and begging for autographs. Heh Heh.
Tiong Bahru Plaza - 4 Dec 2004 (4pm)
I went there with Esther, who was kind enough to take some time off her busy (don't know busy with what...) schedule to accompany me there. (Yes, thank you very much, ET). We arrived 2 hours early but couldn't find the exact location of the stage. It wasn't our fault. The notice only stated Tiong Bahru Plaza, but didn't say where exactly. We combed the entire shopping mall more than 3 times... then realised, about an hour and a half later, that it was OUTSIDE the mall. Haiz. How was we suppose to know?!?
So anyway, there was already a large crowd gathered there, but both of us managed to bulldoze our way through. But the worse hadn't even began yet.
I was suffocated by the millions of sweaty bodies and drowned by the wild screams of both the hyper teens and the ecstatic aunties, who were waving their fans and swaying their butts at the sight of the TVB artistes. Everyone got so excited and started waving their hands and fans in the air frantically. I had to practically knock the aunty's head off before I could get a decent shot with my digital camara, because the shot was either blocked by the mass of black permed hair, or her hand fan. Darn it.
Then the stars played games on stage with some contestants! So cute!!! Bobby was so cute! He kept cheating, and in the end, he won! Kudos for Bobby!
I realised that Bobby is rather much the same on screen as well as off. He's still the same cute, fat, bald-headed guy with a face that just makes you laugh whenever you see it.
Bowie is also what I imagined him to be. Cool, calm, collected, rather serious guy, who can kid around too, if he wants to.
Bernice and Sonija... well, I don't particually adore them that much. I can only remember her as the Princess in Virtues of Harmony and that ridiculous lawyer in Survivors' Law. And Sonija is just Sonija, though she's much better in person as compared to the evil, jealous characters she tries to act in. (But anyhow, I still thank Bobby for trying to disfigure her face in the backdrop by drawing a moustache)
At the end of it is the long awaited autograph session. Can you believe it? I was in the front row but I couldn't get the full set of autographs!!! WhY? Because of the thousands of adoring fans and kiasu aunties and uncles pushing like crazy. If I had lost my footing, I would probably have been stepped on like a doormat. Its crazy. I mean, what's a 70 year old woman doing at an autograh session like this? Some nice people were screaming "STOP PUSHING THE AH MAH... LET THE AH MAH GO!!!" But nobody seemed to listen. But actually come to think of it, it isn't their fault. If Ah Mah had the guts to come to this chaotic situation, surely she has the guts to be pushed around...
Anyway, I only got the girls' autographed picture. But thank God that I was intelligent! Before that, I made use of my front-row advantage to scream for Bobby's attention to get him to sign my Files of Justice VCD. AHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! BOBBY WAS SO NICE!!!!!! ALL I HAD TO TO WAS SHOUT "BOBBYYYYYYYYYYYy!!!!!!!" and he shook my hand, took my serial box, signed it and gave me a little bow and presented me back my box with both hands... AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! I could have fainted!!!
Okay, Esther got all of the autographed pictures. Why? Because she was pushed onstage. Darn it. Haiz. Nevermind...
I decided to try the next day...
IMM - 5 Dec 2004 (1pm)
Since Esther decided to forsake me, and I was determined to get the rest of the pictures, I went the following day to IMM. I woke up late, so I ended up being there only 45 minutes early. This time round the security guards were smarter. They fixed up a queue area for the people who wanted the autographs. By the time I was there, there were almost a hundred people queuing! My goodness. But at least there were no pushing and shoving aunties and uncles. But I was dealt with a blow half an hour later. The security said they had already given the numbers 1-50 and those who didn't get the numbers won't get autographs. Oh man, I felt like crying. But they said we could still queue. Maybe the stars would be kind enough to sign more than 50...so I waited and waited till my legs were going to break.
Then my mum came back with a second bad news. She found out that Bobby wasn't going to be there!!!!! DRAT!!!!!!!!! Haiz... I was so crushed...
But at least at the end of it, I managed to get Bowie's picture as well.
My dad had offered earlier to take photos for me while I queued. And when he proudly showed me his product of hard work... ARGHHHH!!!! All Bernice Liu's pictures! Because she's pretty. Haiz. Worse still, when I told him to take photo of the guy (as in Bowie), all I saw was a very well shot photo of... the security guard.
But at least in the end, with my supervision, he managed to shoot a brilliant photo of Bowie!!! So CUTE! And he shook my hand, some more...
Ok, so that is the end of my fanatic idolizing.
FIRST TWO PICTURES ARE PROPERTY OF SCORPIO EAST ENTERTAINMENT. THE REST ARE PROPERTY OF THE AUTHOR - WHICH IS ME! ADELYN!
