  A nice February
I love this month a lot because as many people noticed, all the prime slots on channel 8 have been replaced by TVB dramas - and I mean ALL. Yahoo!!! For friends who know me well, they will know that I have been an ardent TVB fan since goodness knows when. I've watched more TVB then I do any other kinds of dramas, and I probably know most of the serials inside out. I've watched In the Realm of Fancy as well as Not Just A Pretty Face once and this is the third time I'm watching Survivors' Law and Greed Mask. So this is like a real good month for me. No local dramas. Only bad thing is I don't really have that much time or enthusiasm to study.

Oh. I've been grumbling to Esther about the ASTRO Wah Lai Toi award presentation which was held in KL last month. I've been grumbling to her for weeks already. I keep going on and on about how Malaysia has the ASTRO awards presentation and what does Singapore have? Star awards? Sianz, man.

For those who don't know, ASTRO Wah Lai Toi awards is like our star awards except that its for the HK TVB stars and not local stars. Last month, 10 over stars flew over to KL just specially for that night. Can anyone beat that?! That's like WOW!
My favourites like Chilam, Maggie and Myolie were there! Along with others like Raymond Lam, Charmaine Sheh, Christine Ng, Roger Kwok, Ron Ng and so on and so forth.

WAH PIANGZ. HAIZ.

I don't even get to watch a clip of the astro awards. Sian big time. One thing I'm very happy about is that Maggie Cheung Ho Yee got an award for the favourite character of Onn Sin in War and Beauty. Yes! Finally! This award has been long overdue! Good job, Malaysians, for voting on the basis of GOOD ACTING SKILLS and not any other reason.

I have heard about the best actreess controversy about a year back at the 36th TVB anniversary awards which was like about a year back and ya, I agree with the rumours. I'm always complaining to Esther that everytime I watch War and Beauty, I'll cringe and feel like smashing the TV whenever I see Gigi Lai acting as Yukying in there. Definitely the most irriating character with the most exaggerated type of acting. To quote one critical reviewer Funn Lim, Gigi's acting "is worse than overacting, hers is over the mount everest type of acting, as in so over the overacting". You get the idea, and I can tell you Funn isn't exaggerating here.

So there was no way Gigi could have gotten best actress. Her acting was terrible, and terrible is too light a word to describe it, but she got it. Yes. TVB GAVE HER THE FREAKING BEST ACTRESS RECOGNITION when it should have been the other 3 actresses who gave a much more credible performance.

I'm more satisfied with the ASTRO results. Yes! Thank goodness! Gigi wasn't voted in, I think. Lolx!!!

I think I've rambled alot about TVB already. Lolx. I know everyone's like asleep by the time they read this sentence. Haha.

Anyway, getting back to reality...

Despite the midterm break, I'm still having a long week. I have a psychology test as well as a political science essay to hand up on Friday, and a marketing presentation on Saturday. Then its my usual violin lesson in the afternoon.

Oh, the other day, I made the decision to continue my french at Alliance Francaise again. That is because of the pressure and persuasion of friends as well as relatives who feel that its such a waste to give up on a language just as I've been working on it for quite a while. Gosh. I can't really remember much of what I've learnt before. I had wanted to start right from the beginning but the receptionist at AF told me not to waste money and start from the intermediate level. I thought about it for a while and finally heed her advice, so i'm like so stressed out now.

Our former DPM S. Rajaratnam has passed away at age 90 today. I'm watching his documentary now on Channel U...

I think I'll go study now.

  Happy Birthday, Sharon
Yey. Its the 21st birthday of a very old friend of mine. We attended the same nursery, kindergarten, primary school, secondary school and JC, so one can really see how far our history dates back. She's 21 now - so old - That's why I call her my old friend.

Erm. Haha. Actually there are many people living in my neighbourhood whom I've known since young. Many of us attended the same schools nearby. I even know of a friend who's parents know my parents and our mums just so happened to be in the same labour ward, and she's only one day younger than me. I'm not sure if she attended the same kindergarten but we attended the same PL primary and secondary school. Cool right?

Anyway, happy birthday Sharon!

  First lecture of 2006
I attended my first lecture of 2006 at 12pm today. Its a level 3000 political science module called Singapore's Foreign Policy. I realised my brain got rusty during the one month break because it took me one minute to register what the United Nations was. Haha. The lecturer for this module is Dr Alan Chong. I think he was suppose to co-lecture with Prof Singh but ended up lecturing by himself. Wasted. I loved Prof Singh's GPS lecture last semester. Very funny guy. Oh too bad...

Anyway, I spent my entire day yesterday cleaning up my room in PGP and moving my stuff in. I did a through clean. Sterilized the whole room.

See! My room is so nice and clean... and not so empty...

The beginning of a new semester
Today is the first day of school for most people at NUS, but for me, my first lessons don't start until Wednesday. I spent my day in NUS arguing with the OSA people about my room change to KEVII, but gave up, when the guy told me to think of the people who do not even have room accomodation on campus and how they feel. Does he think I really care? Anyway, after that I went back to the PGP office to check-in. There were so many people there all waiting to check-in. Wasted so much time and what's more? It was raining so heavily.

See? Rain so heavy. My windows all wet.

The view from my room.

Tada tada! Introducing... my room! See my room so small and empty. My bed wasn't in this position originally, but I moved it 90 degrees.

My toilet.

And most importantly... MY AIRCON!!! (which I don't think I need for the next few days)

My transponder and my move-in form.

Haha. In the NUS hostels, we use transponders instead of keys. I remember last semester, there was this girl who went up to the office staff and told them, "You didn't give me the keys to my room, how to go in?!" While saying that, she was swinging the transponder in the guy's face. Haha. Seemed quite funny then.

The dark corridor...

The claster kitchenette.

Tomorrow is a public holiday - Hari Raya. My dad will be going to JB to do some work and my mum will still be working in the office. Poor me will be driving to PGP with all my barang barang and spend the entire day cleaning up and sterilizing the room. I think someone moved into my room during the holidays.

Hmmm. It has been raining for the past 3 days. Heard that this will continue for the next 2 days or so. Sigh. So sian. Rain, rain, go away... shoo!

Renci Charity Show & NKF scandal
Just finished watching the Renci Charity Show on Channel U. For some strange reason, I always prefer watching Renci rather than any other charity show because it always gives me a more sincere feeling. Maybe because Renci hospital is headed by a religious figure? Or is it because I have been to Renci to do volunteer work so I feel more strongly for the organization? I remember going with my SRJC class to Renci and I chatted with a female patient there and really felt sympathy for her.

When I was in secondary school, I remember doing flag day with Sharon. From what I recall, we were raising funds for NKF and I did put my heart and soul in collecting donations. I even remember one incident when Sharon and I got scolded by a man when we approached him for donation. I think he was an NKF hater or something. And if I'm not wrong, that was in 1999 - way before our recent NKF saga.

Many of us have been outraged when we realise that our hard earned money and/or our time and effort have contributed to someone else's first class air ticket or 'study trips' to Las Vages.

I was and still am sore about it and I feel that's only natural, but at the same time, strangely, I never regretted doing that particular flag day, or dropping spare coins into the tin cans whenever a student approaches me, unlike the many people who have said that they regretted donating to the old NKF.

Although the old NKF patients only received 10 cents per dollar of the donations, when you think about it the other way round, what would have happened if I hadn't donated that $1? For every dollar that was donated by me, these patients would have received an extra 10 cents and that 10 cents would have probably made a difference, though small, but still a difference.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not speaking up for the old NKF. In fact, far from it. I feel that people who make use of other people's sympathy should get their ass whipped back, front and centre. But since this has already happened, why not take a more optimistic perspective instead of grumbling about regret?

The Xmas & New Year Horrors
Remember I was saying earlier about how my dad and I went to Orchard Road in the middle of the night for supper and I got sprayed by the aerosol snow spray? Yeah. I wasn't molested or anything (thank God!) but I was damn freaked out. What is the effect? I'm psychologically affected and never wanna go Orchard during the festive season anymore.

News reports subsequently revealed that while girls were temporarily blinded by the foam spray, they were molested. In fact, there were 11 cases reported.

What the hell. They should ban that stuff. That was what my dad said on the night of New Year's eve. Many foreign workers were standing by the road side armed with aerosol spray and spraying into innocent faces. - That one I saw with my very own eyes, and I heard that they were also the ones doing the molesting. Victims without their own bottles (ie. people like me) glared in anger and walked off. Those armed with their own sprays simply sprayed back in annoyance.

The snow spray is suppose to be a fun thing and is suppose to be sprayed upwards to create a snowy effect and NOT to spray in someone's faces and much less as a tool for molestation.

I say... BAN IT!

  Moon River
I'm addicted to 'Moon River'.

Ever since I began watching Split Second, I got hooked to 'Moon River'. Now I have like 7 versions of the song in my new ipod video. My favourite english version is by Westlife from their album "Allow Us To Be Frank". Very cool.

Also thanks to ET, I also got the french version.

Now I'm just hoping to get the Thai version. I heard it once or twice by Tata Young. Sounds so nice and jazzy. Love it!

  New Year and birthday party
Just celebrated new year as well as my grandpa's birthday party last night at some chinese restaurant. Yep. My grandpa, born on the 1st of January is 82 this year, I think. We had a normal ten-course dinner then headed to my aunty Maggie's house for some coffee and a birthday cake.

I was the photographer for the night but everyone started complaining about the photos. Haha. Either said they were too fat or their arms were too huge... haiz. Haha.

Back to blogging in full gear and Happy New Year!
After so long of having a break from blogging, I'm finally back to blogging in full gear. Just back from shopping in Plaza Sing with my parents and waiting to go a New Year/birthday party tonight. Its my grandpa's birthday today!

I went out with my dad last night for supper at Orchard Road. Actually it was early this morning at 12.30am. We had a full supper - Japanese food. Then we walked down Orchard. There were lots of people roaming round the streets in the middle of the night. Haha. Many were armed with that snow spray thing. So irritating. My right arm got sprayed by 'snow' and became all white. Argh. At least it wasn't so bad for me. Some people had their face sprayed too. Haha. There was this poor guy who was standing at the traffic light and suddenly, this truck came by and the people on the truck gave a loud "HAPPY NEW YEAR" and sprayed the poor guy with 'snow' and ribbons from top to toe. He sure didn't look too happy. Well, I know its the new year and we should be in the festive mood, but some people carry it too far sometimes.

  Happy National Day!!!
Happy birthday, Singapore! As I'm furiously burying my head into my notebook, typing this blog, I'm listening to Stephanie Sun's "We will get there". Trying to get into the patriotic mood, for a change.

Didn't get to watch the Parade this year, but I did get to watch some fireworks in the comfort of my own home. My place is high enough to view it. Heh.

Anyway, my mum presented a check to the Kovan Melody property agent today. They finally decided to buy a unit there. After so much deliberation and drilling of the property agents around the islands, they finally settled on a 3 + 1 unit in Kovan Melody just next to the mrt station.

There goes my Carribean!

My parents nearly bought a 2 bedroom unit at Harbourfront. Carribean @ Keppel Bay. A 6 star condo. Near the sea... its fantastic. Its like living in a 6 star resort. So darn great but so darn ex. Plus there weren't many good units left. My parents are a fussy lot.

Darn. Better stick to my Melody.

Hehe...

Anyway, I'm moving back to NUS again. Got Prince Georges' Park this time round, so I'm gonna miss my friends in KE. Come to think of it... I'm just opposite KE. Can see them anytime, when I'm not too lazy. Now I've got a private toilet and aircon in my room. Haha! Yippee!

Oh and I changed my major already. No more econs! Free from the torture chambers of econs!!! Yippee. So now I'm a political science major. Pol sci! So you guys had better not argue with me over anything political! Ha!

SRJC will be holding a lit play at the end of the month. Should I go? I think I'll go to show support to my lit juniors. But there again.. who cares about lit juniors? I want to go because I simply want to have fun and sit around listening to Shakespeare!

Alright. Gotta run... cya 'round! =)

  Sangdoo, Let's go to school
I have never been a fan of Korean dramas because I felt they were super boring serials moving at snail crawling speed. Well, recently, Channel 55 has been showing one Korean drama, which is one of the very very few dramas which actually caught my attention. In fact, I'm so hooked to it now, I'm so gonna buy the vcd of dvd, when one with english subtitles comes up.

In Singapore, the drama is called "My Beloved". But in every other part of the world(including Korea), its called "Sangdoo, let's go to school!" I wonder what's so different about Singapore. What's so wrong with the original title?

Anyway, this drama is a comedy plus a tearjerker.

It's about a young girl and boy who fell in love in high school - their first love. The girl was an adopted daughter of a poor woman who stole money from her neighbours and had to take her children away to hide. The boy was an adopted son of a rich family. Then, in a bid to save the girl's music recorder he accidentially killed someone and had to be placed in a detention center. The girl ran away with her mum, so she didn't know. So when the boy was released, he came out to find his girlfriend gone, and his family had migrated without him knowing. After a one night stand with a stranger, he was left all alone with a sick daughter after 9 months. He ended up going back to his biological uncle, who taught him the tricks to being a sucessful gigglo, to pay off the medical fees.

Many years later, the girl and boy managed to meet again on the streets. The girl is now a teacher with a doctor boyfriend, while the boy is a successful gigglo with a sick daughter. To be near her, the boy first applied to be a guard of the school, and finally ended up being a student in her class. They realise they love each other deeply, but many problems come up.

Firstly, her doctor boyfriend refuses to let go, secondly, he has a very sick daughter to take care of. Thirdly, the mother of his daughter loves him a lot. Fourth, the mother of his daughter turns out to be the biological daughter of the girl's foster mum. Fifth, she doesn't know he once committed murder.

Will they manage to overcome all these? I don't know because I haven't finished the serial yet. But one thing I know is that he can't afford to be student anymore, because of the medical bills. So while he reverts back to his old career, she tries means and ways to get him back to school.

That's Rain, the lead actor. I think he looks good and young.

To all Korean drama fans around... this is one drama you must never miss!!! Excellent one.

  PCK - the Musical
Hey... I'm back from watching Phua Chu Kang the Musical with my parents at the indoor stadium. My dad won tickets from participating in a radio discussion for it. Well, my dad would never have gone to watch it if the tickets weren't free. My dad is probably one of the biggest critics of Phua Chu Kang.

The tickets my dad got were $35 ones, which means we were at the balcony seats, at the back. It was so far from the stage. Aiyoh, can't see much, but I got the rough idea.

PCK definitely isn't the best musical I've ever seen in my life and I sure won't pay $100 to sit right in the front. After watching it, my parents were complaining that PCK isn't really prepared to give a musical even if they did spend $3 million in production. The concept is still the same, all PCK singlish. The main casts are also the same as the sitcom. The only difference is probably that they included lots of songs here and there to make it a musical. It was also very draggy, and some scenes were unnecessary. Some songs were extra long too. The show was over 2 hours. Some scenes were quite messy also, and they seemed to be in a rush which delivering their lines sometimes. My mum also complained that their singing weren't good, their voices weren't that powerful. Maybe they should have practised more and attended more singing lessons instead of rushing to the musical. Their dances weren't that good as well. At the end, my dad gave it a 5 out of 10. Haha.

Summary of PCK the Musical (WaRnInG: contains spoilers)

Chu Kang was worried that no one in his family seemed to remember his 40th birthday even after he dropped hints, but unknown to him, his family was already planning his party. So the sad Chu Kang went out to a coffee shop and met Chu Kok, whom appeared to be his long lost brother. Yep, Papa Phua supposedly had an affair with a Kampong Slut Audrey Chee and had a son who was then abandoned in a rubbish bin at age 3 months. Chu Kok took Chu Kang to see a fortune teller who delivered 3 predictions. One - Kang will find his long lost brother. Two - Kang will be hit by something big. Three - He will die the next day. The first two predictions proved accurate, so Kang became convinced that his end was near, so he got a lawyer and signed over all his property and money over to Chu Kok. Unknown to him, all this was a plot set up by con-tractor (notice the pun) cum enemy Frankie Foo. So Chu Kang ended up with nothing except his family. In the midst of celebrating, Frankie collapsed with a heart attack but was eventually saved by Chu Kang and Chu Beng. Out of gratitude and respect for Chu Kang, Frankie decided to return everything back.

The End.

  Dinner at Esplanade
For those who have read Sharon's blog at www.the_siao_one.blogspot.com, would know that we went to the esplanade park opposite the padang on Tuesday.

Thanks to Sharon we got to go there. Well, both she and her dad are regular blood donars and so both received invitations to a dinner there.

Turned out to be a picnic dinner. We had to queue in a long long queue to take our packet dinner, and luckily for us, it came to our turn before the rain came pouring down. By then, we had already escaped back indoor.

The dinner pack was meant to be a family pack - 2 adults and 2 kids. It contained
*2 sets of meals which included 2 hotdogs, 1 jelly and 4 nuggets each
*2 bottles of new water
*2 cups of popcorn
*2 beanie babies
*1 cap

If you thought that we were extremely fortunate to have escaped the rain, I can tell you, you thought wrong. I would have rather been drenched in the rain, instead of eating at the basement of the esplanade.

Why? Because I had to exercise my tolerance of irritating screeching children once again.

There were 2 little boys dressed in matching spiderman costumes running around while their parents were desperately trying to finish their dinner as well as stuff the 2 little rascals with bread.

Sharon and I were also trying to finish our dinner in record time, covering our ears to the screeching kids. To be honest, they sounded like they were being possessed. What was amazing was that the parents seemed to be oblivious to the din that the kids were making. Either they are deaf, or they are out to make us deaf.

Anyway, after dinner, we took a walk at citylink.

Then I drove Sharon home...

Haha..overall, I have to admit that it had been a pretty fun experience, though I was so tired when I got home...

Oh yeah, I'm looking forward to Saturday. My dad won tickets to PCK the musical. Haha. So funny, considering he hates PCK, and would never have gotten tickets to watch it otherwise. I'm not really interested in watching the musical itself but rather looking forward to what my dad will say about the production. Maybe he'll change his perspective on the local product. Lol...

Going with Sharon to some free movie and dinner thingy at the esplanade on Tuesday.

So what's new in my life so far...?

1) Violin lessons.

2) Changing major - to maybe...sociology? Whatever... I can't bear another semester of econs anymore...

3) Trying to look for a holiday job... though not trying very hard... haha...

Okay... I'm going to continue watching tvvvvv......

  Finals are coming!
Time passes so fast. I'm already reaching the end of my freshman year. That means my finals are coming. Argh. All the panick and frantic studying makes me sick. In fact it did make me sick last week. Went down with a high fever and sore throat. Slept through the whole week. Didn't get to study at all. Haiz. Ok. My mum's still in Africa. It has been like what? 2 months? Who the hell goes on holiday for 2 whole months?! And my dad went on business trip to KL again. So I had to come home myself. Took the bus and mrt and mrt and bus. I'm so dead tired now. dthat, or a car! I need to use the CAR! Buy me a car, dad! I want a carrrrrrr...................

Ok. I'm gonna study...

For people taking any form of exam within the next month...I've got only one advice for you.... JIA YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Haven't been blogging for so long...
I haven't touched by blog for so long. Too lazy. Had my mid terms over the past two weeks. Totally sucked.

Okay. Many things happened over the last few weeks. Firstly, my mum went off to South Africa for holiday. Left me and my dad at home. So sad. She gets to zoom of for hols. It wasn't even planned. It was literally at the last minute. She booked the tickets in the afternoon and simply took the night flight off with my aunt to Cape Town. Haiz. Mums nowadays are getting crazier and crazier. Haha.. but I have to admit that was pretty cool of her. Not her usual style. All my nagging to her about being more adventurous has finally settled into her. So she has been there for 2 weeks already, and is gonna stay there for the next month or so. So nice. Living next to the Atlantic Ocean somemore.

ArghH!!! I'm stuck here in this stupid island studying my head off!

Secondly, the A level results were released last week. Heard from Sharon that SR didn't do very well. So sad for them.... really... Plus the teachers also. I had always believed that SR has a dedicated batch of good teachers. I have always told that to my dad... always defended the quality of the teachers against anyone in doubt, even though I have the tendency to grumble about them sometimes. Also the students... haiz... I know how it feels having to receive your results with a sinking feeling. Been there, done that. The feeling is terrible...

  I Dreamt I was a Werewolf
Last night I dreamt a really real and extremely horrific dream. I dreamt I turned into a werewolf. Yes! Its me... the werewolf girl!

The dream started off with me and a group of friends (I can't remember who), running for our lives as we were terrorised by werewolves. My finger was bitten. (Note: bitten only... not bitten off), and I knew my time had come. I told my group to leave me, please, but they wouldn't do so. They didn't believe I got the werewolf virus... So they touched my skin and ouch. My stomach felt electrocuted... its like a hard tickle, or pins-and-needle feeling. I just felt uncomfortable beyond what I could withstand, and I let out a roar. A loud roar. A loud inhuman roar. It sounded like..."roOOOOAAAAAARRRRRRRRRR......" Hmmm... ok. So they were convinced. I felt the urge to bite someone...felt so uncomfortable, so I sunk my teeth into one of the girls necks, and blood started flowing out. It's so weird that I can actually taste the blood in my dream. Tasted weird. Haha.

Hmmmm... then I woke up. Time for lecture.

  CNY
Ok.. it has been one week after CNY and the CNY spirit has died down already. Well, technically speaking, that's wrong, because I hadn't felt any spirit in me at all in the first place.

CNY to me has not much significance really. Not anymore now. In the past, as young kids, CNY meant no school plus hongbao. Really great. Get to meet all my cousins, something different from the everyday routine of going to school and staying at home, alone.

But as I grow older.. and now that I'm 19 going on 20, CNY just doesn't seem to have any effects anymore. I think I'm beginning to be more of a mugger than anything else. I was actually upset about the one week break from school... because it was disrupting my studying momentum... haha

But anyway, it was still enjoyable, nevertheless.

As usual, my family would gather at my paternal grandparents' place for reunion dinner. We cooked some, we bought some.. and we ate some. Then we chatted for a while and broke for home. I was down with flu a few days back... and after the dinner I felt ill, and went to bed early. What a way to spend the first day of the rooster year. Haiz. My dad, aunt, uncle and cousin went to the temple, like they always do every year to pray.

New Year Day itself was a little different this year. Instead of visiting my paternal grandparents first, we visited my mum's dad first. Then we went over to the other side for a late lunch. We ate the usual "mee sua" which is the longevity noodles eaten during new year and birthdays. My aunt complained that there was something wrong with the noodles and secretly threw away the entire pot. Sad - but necessary.

Anyway, I didn't do any visiting this year, but waited at my grandparent's place for people to visit. Yeah, lots of people arrived in the afternoon and one family which arrived so late in the night...

They came at the wrong timing and we were too polite to say anything because normally at around 9.30pm, us, the kids would go to the nearby theatre to watch a movie... just as we were desperate to catch a movie, the adults were, too, itching to play cards.

We were so bored, we hid in the room and exchanged handphones and tried to beat each other's high scores.

Anyway, we couldn't stand it anymore and so the group of us marched out of the house and down to the theatres. That should give the guests a hint, at least. Haha.

Oh yeah, we watched "Seoul Raiders" which started at about 11.15pm. Why Seoul Raiders? Because the rest of the movies had bad timing. And horror movies arn't good to watch on the first day of CNY. There were 8 of us altogether. My cousin's girlfriend, Lisa joined us too.

The movie ended about 1.30am or so, and we went home after that.

The second day of CNY wasn't much. People still came to visit my grandparents and many angpow's exchanged hands, but the kids were so desperate to finish their homeworks in time for school the next day. I just don't get it.. why must teachers always give homework and tests to be due the day after the CNY hols? Its a friday, anyway... can't the schools just declare a day holiday in good faith?

Anyway, happy new year, you people...

Where's my angpow?

  Triangel

Anyone ever seen this doll? For people who have watched "Triumph in the Skies" would know its called Triangel. Its a doll which is said to can bring fate to two people. For example, if a guy gives this doll to a girl, (or perhaps vice versa, also works), these two people will be fated to be together. True a not i don't know, but I really like this show and I really like this doll. Samuel gave this doll to Zoe and they ended up together in the end... ahhh... how sweet...

  Fencing

Finally decided not to skip fencing training today, so I got ready to leave my room at 8pm. Feeling so proud of myself, I happily went down to the foyer, only to be told there's no training today!!! Boohoohoo....... Waste my time. Should have gone home today and watch my channel 55.

Anyway, in place of training was a meeting about our KE Open tournament. Its a novice fencing tornament and I think they'll only be having the male and female foil catagories. Yep.. there will be fencers from secondary schools, JCs, and private fencing associations. Thats bad. So bad. I mean, what am I going to do if I lose to a bunch of kids?!?

Boohoohoo......

  Formal Hall Dinner
Just had my formal hall dinner this evening. Didn't want to go at first because I hate dressing up. But in the end, I went anyway. Didn't regret it. It was pretty fun. Nice food, nice entertainment. Only the master's speech was boring. Someone made that so obvious, he started clapping when the master was still speaking. Lol. That was so hilarious. But this is one of the few times I'm satisfied with dinner. And they had the dining hall aircon on too. Just like last semester.

  IHG Female Soccer
Yesterday was the IHG female soccer. Woke up so early yesterday. Then got sun-burn. Muscle ache. Ouch. Pain.

Last night I watched the soccer match. Singapore vs Indonesia. Wah... haha. Singapore won 2:1. I thought Singapore would lose. But I would have to admit.. they were quite okay last night. And I can't believe there were so many Singapore fans out there last night. Did the Kallang Wave some more. Haha.

  2nd day of school
Yep! Its the second day of school. Tuesday. Relaxing day because I have no lessons today!!! Spend the whole morning slacking in my bed. Comfy. Everyone else has lessons today... Ate lunch by myself at PGP. Then sold my political science course pack to my friend Malvin. He's taking PS this semester. Good luck to him. Heh.

This semester, I'm taking 3 econs modules. I'm so gonna die. All math, math, math, math, math and nothing but more math. Attended Microecons and macroecons lectures yesterday. Macro wasn't all that bad. That indian lecturer seemed nice. The micro one was crazy. First day of lecture and all she could do was to solve math equations. SighZ.

Tomorrow having my Singapore studies - business law lecture and econometrics. I hate econometrics. Its all statistics. Drats. I hate statistics. But econometrics is compulsory if I want to major in Econs.

Then there is the question again - why do I want to major in econs?

Answer: Hmmm... I don't know? Maybe because I'm a sadist? I love to torture myself to death? Does that answer the question?

Darn it. I hate myself.

  School starting tomorrow... drats!
Yes, as the title suggests... school starts tomorrow. So sianz! Is there an english equivalent for "sianz"? Boring? Doesn't sound right. Sighz.. nevermind. I'm still in holiday mood. WHY IS THE HOLS SO BLOODY SHORT?

  Tiger Cup Finals 1
Absolutely NOT a Lion fan but watched the first match between Singapore and Indonesia. Surprisingly, Singapore was not bad in this match. Or maybe it was just Indonesia's poor performance, which caused the match to end at 3-1. Indonesia scored at literally the last second of the match.

Hmmm.. I think almost everyone at the stadium was disappointed. Indonesia was expected to win... but didn't. Haiz.

The Indonesian spectators all left during the last 20 minutes of the match. Heh... no one left. Lol...

Disappointing play by the Indonesians this time round. Hope they can catch up in the next.

  Tiger Cup semi finals
Just caught the match between Singapore and Myanmar. I'm never a Singapore soccer fan, but just happened to catch the last 20 minutes or so of the match. Wahhhhh... cool match, man. At that time, Singapore was trailing Myanmar by 2 goals to 1. At that time, Myanmar was one man down.

Then suddenly, Singapore was awarded a penalty kick, and the Myanmar team started protesting. That started all the drama. The remaining game was purely dramatic. 2 men from the Myanmar team was sent off consecutively, one for protesting against the referee's decision of awarding the penalty. The second, for kicking mud at the officials in protest of their decision to kick off the other defender. So both Myanmar defenders went off.

Then Singapore missed the penalty kick. Such lousy skills.

Later, wahhhh.... so dramatic.. both teams were on the verge of punching each other. Then the Myanmar's reserve goalkeeper threw a waterbottle at this Singapore player. The goalkeeper got sent off the stadium with the fans cheering him. The spectators started throwing things down... waterbottles... I saw an umbrella...

Then one of our Singapore players hit the other Myanmar guy on the field, then the whole bunch of Myanmar players started confronting him, shoving him...

Wahhh.. haha... more interesting than drama, man...

In the end, Singapore won 4-2 of course... How the hell can they lose when they were playing against only 8 men?

But honestly, Myanmar's playing is definitely much, much better than Singapore. Singapore's playing sucks and their goals were not based on skill but on luck. Singapore was lucky that the Myanmar players lost their cool, and had so many men sent out of the field. But in terms of sportsmanship, Myanmar still has lots to learn.

  My granddad's birthday bash
Yep, my granddad from my dad's side, is born on the 1st of January. That's what his IC states anyway. So on 31 December 2004, we celebrated his birthday. We had 2 tables in a private room in the chinese restaurant at the Singapore Island Country Club (SICC).

So almost everyone turned up except for Uncle Andrew, Justin and Benjamin, who are living in South Africa, Los Angeles and New York respectively. My cousin, Kiat Huat's girlfriend, Litza came as well. So its Dr Ooi and Dr...errrr... Litza.. I heard she use to stay at King Edward Hall too. F block, level 2... Haha.

So later we went to the airport to have a cup of coffee and stayed past 12am...Heh...

Anyway, pictures are finally out! Yep, I took some photos with my camara phone. Not excellent shots. But...good enough...

Moon River
Moon River, wider than a mile,
I'm crossing you in style some day.
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker,
wherever you're going I'm going your way.
Two drifters off to see the world.
There's such a lot of world to see.
We're after the same rainbow's end--
waiting 'round the bend,
my huckleberry friend,
Moon River and me.
